Friendship Day Books

This beginners reading book is incredible. The artist couple who created this and the three books for older children are wonderfully talented in their writing and especially their artwork. On the west coast their are galleries dedicated to the artwork portrayed in these books, you should not miss out on these books, they are fantastic!

My daughter is working on learning to read, and this book has been a great one to help her with that. Plus, she loves Hello Kitty, so it's one of our favorites!

This is a very sweet book. My 2-year-old daughter adores it. We bought it last year around Thanksgiving time because I wanted her to start young with an understanding that there is more to Thanksgiving than eating turkey and Grandma's jello salad. This book was absolutely wonderful. However, it need not be tucked away just for Thanksgiving. The theme of the book is that a teacher asks "Hello, Kitty" to write an essay about what she is most thankful for. The book tells the story of many things for which she is grateful, and ends by drawing the conclusion that everything she is grateful for includes her family and friends, so ultimately, that is what she writes her essay about. It is a wonderful story, and it's short enough that if your toddler keeps saying "again" at the end of the book, you'll be able to read it more than once without keeping him/her up too late at bedtime.

I am in Grade 3. I like this because it's so funny. My favorite part was when Billie and Alyssa ate gum.

Each page of this book repeats the animal sounds of the animals discussed on the previous pages. One animal is added each time. My 2-yr-old twin girls LOVE it! The repetition makes it easy for them to participate with each page turn. Also, the animal is pictured instead of spelled out wich allows me to point & they can tell me which animal we're mimicking...pre-reading skill.

"It's Hug Day!" is book #19 in the now combined Blue's Clues / Room series and features a "Hug Day" playdate. It's based on the television special by the same name. The playdate spinner has landed on Hug Day. Hug Day is a day for showing appreciation. Blue looks up the word "appreciate" in Dictionary. She doodles some things that she appreciates on Doodle Board and even creates a Hug Day card for us.

Blue's Room is really shaping up. "It's Hug Day" is another fun book release that engages readers just like television series does. The illustrations are full-age on every page and combine photographs of the puppets from the show with original illustrations.

I bought this book for my 2 1/2 year old about a month ago and she absolutely loves it. Before she got the Dora books, she asked me to read ocassionally, but now she refuses to go to sleep until I have read at least one Dora story. She actually allows me to read every single page. With other books she got very bored and skipped through the pages, not allowing me to get through the entire story. The Dora books keep her fully engaged and actively listening. I enjoy reading so I am excited to see that she does too!!

THE BOOK KAREN'S SECRET VALENTINE IS KIND OF HARD TO STOP READING ONCE YOU ALREADY PUT YOUR NOSE INTO,THE VALENTINES DAY ACTIVITY THAT MS.COLMAN PLANNED IS FUN BECAUSE I HAVE PLAYED IT, BUT I AGREE IT'S NOT REALLY FUN IF YOU HAVE TO SEND NICE NOTES AND GIFTS TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T LIKE,I HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT IN A SIMILAR WAY,THIS MONTH OUR TEACHER MRS.AREVALO TOLD US TO SEND NICE NOTES TO EVRYONE IN THE CLASS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY THAT WAY NO ONE WOULD BE LEFT OUT AND FEEL BAD.THE ONLY DIFFERENT THING WAS THAT WE COULD SAY WHO WE WERE.I DIDN'T MIND AT ALL SINCE I LIKE DOING THESE SORT OF THINGS,BUT THERE IS A CERTAIN PERSON IN MY CLASS (I WON'T SAY WHO IT IS) THAT I DON'T REALLY LIKE,HE BUGS TOO MUCH,AND I WON'T DENY THAT I BUG HIM BACK SOMETIMES,BUT IT IS REALLY THE ONLY THING I CAN DO SO HE WILL KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT.IGNORING PEOPLE JUST DOESN'T WORK SOMETIMES. EVEN THOUGH SOME THINGS THAT ANN M MARTIN WRITES IN HER BOOKS ARE CLEARLY NOT EASY ACCOMPLISHED,I FEEL THAT SHE HAS AN AWESOME ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND CHILDREN AND THEIR PROBLEMS AND MAKE THE CHARACTERS IN HER BOOKS JUST LIKE THEM. IN THE STORY KAREN DRAWS THE NAME OF HER "WORST ENEMY" OUT OF A HAT,THAT'S NOT REALLY GOOD NEWS,BUT KAREN RELUCTANTLY AGREES FOR PAMELA TO BE HER SECRET VALENTINE WHEN NOBODY WANTS TO TRADE VALENTINES WITH HER,EVEN THOUGH IT'LL BE HARD BECAUSE DAYS EARLIER SHE HAD HIT PAMELA WITH A SNOWBALL.DAYS PASS AND KAREN DOES WHAT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO,BUT THEN PAMELA STARTS GETTING MEAN NOTES ,A DOG TREAT AND DEAD BUGS FROM HER SECRET VALENTINE. BUT KAREN DIDN'T DO IT,ALSO NANCY(ONE OF KAREN'S BEST FRIENDS)ISN'T GETTING ANYTHING FROM HER SECRET VALENTINE. THIS ISN'T THE END OF KAREN'S PROBLEMS SHE HAS ALSO GOT ONE AT HER DAD'S HOME(HER PARENTS ARE DIVORCED,AND SHE WAS LIVING AT HER DAD'S THAT MONTH)HER STEP BROTHER DAVID MICHAEL LIKES HER OTHER BEST FRIEND,HANNIE.BUT HANNIE DOESN'T LIKE HIM,SO KAREN TRIES TO CONVINCE HER TO BE NICE TO HIM,BUT SHE REFUSES SO KAREN STARTS PUTTING PRESENTS IN THE MAIL FOR HIM SAYING THEY ARE FROM HANNIE.THE ONLY GOOD THING THAT IS GOING ON IS THAT KAREN AND SOME OF HER FRIENDS ARE GOING TO PUT ON AN ICE SKATING SHOW .ONE DAY NEAR VALENTINE'S DAY KAREN TELLS HANNIE WHAT SHE DID WITH DAVID MICHEL AND THEY END UP IN A FIGHT.THEN VALENTINE'S DAY COMES AND EVERYTHING IS CLEAR. 1:IT TURNS OUT ONE OF PAMELA'S BEST FRIENDS SENT ALL THE MEAN THINGS,BECAUSE SHE HAD ALSO GOTTEN INTO A FIGHT WITH PAMELA,(FIND OUT WHY YOURSELF)AND NANCY HADN'T GOTTEN ANYTHING BECAUSE TWO OF HER CLASSMATES HAD GOTTEN THE SAME PERSON TWICE AS THEIR SECRET VALENTINE BECAUSE MS.COLMAN HAD WRITTEN THE SAME NAME TWICE. 2:HANNIE AND KAREN FINALLY MADE UP BECAUSE NOW DAVID MICHEL LIKED SOMEONE ELSE,SO HE THOUGHT ALL THE GIFTS WERE FROM THAT PERSON. 3:THE ICE SKATING SHOW WAS A BIG HIT. THAT WAS THE MOST CONFUSING VALENTINE'S DAY EVER!

I bought this for my 8 year old and we laughed the entire time she read it to me. After, I bought more "Know-Nothing" books. She reads them over and over because they are funny. We hope more come out soon!!

I like this book because it's Lizzie Mcguire material. Lizzie stuff is always funny. Lizzie's "conscience" will pop up and say what Lizzie wants to say in a difficult situation. Like, for instance, about the Unicorn sweater, "Why do I have to wear this sweater?! And do Grandmas got to Jupiter to buy clothes for their grandkids?" I recommend this book.
