Fathers Day Books

I gave this book to my father for father's day. It tells the charming story of a young girl and the relationship she has with her father. She wants to spend Father's Day with her Dad doing all the things he loves. Instead they do the things she loves to do and like every good Dad he goes along and pretends they are his favorite things too. It seems like he's thinking, "without her I wouldn't be celebrating this day". Any father would love to read this book to his child and cherish it as a gift.

This book is great reading, especially for anyone who appreciates real life experiences mixed with poetry. Each poem is written with depth and purpose so that the reader can feel the words touching his/her soul.

Steve points to Moses, the apostle Paul, and Jesus as models of how to respond to difficulties. This study of their lives reveals that both planned and unplanned circumstances can aid in personal spiritual growth if recognized as opportunities. This book offers hope and wisdom for living beyond the limitations of life. Highly recommended for personal devotions, group Bible studies or home care groups.

The two-page Don'ts and Dos for each age-group were a god-send! I reviewed these quick, easy-to-read reference guides frequently, especially on rotten, no-good, frustrating days.

riecken does a great job showing how each one in the family deals with the father being gone. you see a lot of love and the need for a united family. also, it's realistic. i have been to mexico and know that those kind of things happen. the pictures are beautiful and captivating. i recommend it!

This is a story about a young mouse attempting to find the perfect gift that shows her love and appreciation for Dad. The text is fairly large and the story is short. It would be great for beginning readers in 1st or 2nd grade. The illustrations are clear and vibrant which is great when reading to a large group of children. The pages are sturdy, with a flap to lift on each page so that children can help to look for the perfect Father's Day gift. I have used this book in my Kindergarten classroom to help introduce Father's Day. It would also appeal to preschool children through 2nd grade. What a great book for a teacher! It would also be a fabulous book to pull out at home every year before shopping for Dad! I would definitely supplement with other books that focus on how important father's are. This book's focus is on the gift.

Barbara Reid's clay art makes this book come alive. It is completely wordless, but the story is easy enough for even small toddlers to understand. This was my daughter's favorite board book, and our copy is well-worn, but much loved.

Fantastic little book. My children are forever telling stories from what they see on each page. It seems to prompt them to use their imagination, as what they see differs each sitting. Also encourages creative use of plasticine! We love our Zoe and enjoy the windy journey of this one too.

I bought this for my son and he's carried it with him to and from school for nearly a month. He won't be parted with it, and any book that interests my kid that much has GOT to be good. The book is filled with fun projects, and is not just a father/son book (although my husband does read it with him), but also a brother/brother book, or a fun book on its own. I will probably purchase this book for my son's friends when their birthdays come up. I know there's nothing worse than receiving a book for your birthday when you're eleven years old, but in this case, I think an exception can be made.

My son bought this book (9 yrs old) with his Christmas money and has been glued to it. He and his father will be building a tree house next year. He loves it!

I am a geezer and things like this were taught when I was young and had to run from dinos to avoid becoming supper while going home for supper BUT

My nine year old twin girls love the book. Sure, they have no interest in hunting rabbits (they're vegetarians) or famous battles in history (at least not yet), but there's a lot in here for any kid who is not on too tight of a parental leash. Get this and the girls' book too. A lot of worthwhile bits in each.
