Suspense and Mystery written in Beautiful ProseReview Date: 2002-05-22
What is really amazing is that such suspense and strangeness can be written in what is almost poetry at times. Beautifully written descriptions of decaying Gothic plantations form pleasing oxymorons.
Two reviews I read state that 'Alice Addison' is a pseudonym for Mack Mangham who wrote the extremely compelling "Shadow of the Hawk." It is easy to see his flowing style in the prose of both novels.
This book deserves your attention. Once into it, you will be compelled to rush to the strange and horrifying ending which still manages to remain uplifting.

Lovely edition of Vol. III, No. 1Review Date: 2008-09-04
This is the so-called facsimile edition, in that it contains every page of the original Equinox Vol. III No. 1, as published in Chicago, 1919. It is not the same size as that original edition, nor does its cover or spine look anything like the 1st edition, but this edition alone contains all of the ads in the backpages omitted from every Weiser reprint edition ever produced. Well-made, sure to be a collector's edition, but contains no articles, tables, or annotations not already found in any of the Weiser Vol. III No. 1 editions already in print.
