Both kids love this book. I have no idea why. I mean, it's a cute book, with very colorful, intricate images, and of course
they love the characters. But this book is special to them. Perhaps it's the egg-finding aspect of it. Plus, they get to
put the enclosed foil stickers throughout the book - there are more eggs, Diego, egg basket, birds, butterflies, etc. The
odd thing was that my daughter loved this book at age 2-4, then my son did at the same time as well. They independently favored
it at different times. So, I thought it was only fair if I bouoght a new one fr my son, so that he, too could add the stickers
where he liked. Perfect gift for Easter baskets. Enjoy!

My 2 year old son loves this book. It is so expressive. Each time we read the book, my son has to kiss Dilly when she cries
over losing her feather. And, he's laughing with Dilly by the end of the book.

I purchased this book for my 2 year old neice Abby. She couldn't put it down. She especially liked the number 8 page. A
simple but effective way to learn to count to 10 with beautiful illustrations and short sentences.
Abby and I are Duck and Goose fans and this one is another hit. We are eagerly awaiting Duck and Goose's next adventure.

In addition to teaching colors, I've been able to use it to teach about flowers, insects , and counting. This is a terrific
book, and it's sturdy! I keep this in my diaper bag - it's just the right size for reading in line, or other times when entertaing
an impatient baby is necessary.

Helping Children Learn of God's Special Plan for Their Lives

Review Date: 2005-02-05
Review Date: 2005-02-05
Most of us search for purpose in our lives, and children are no exception to this. In the new book Duncan Carries a King
(Kregel Kidzone, January 2005, hardcover, 32 pages) authors Dan Taylor and Damon J. Taylor introduce the character Duncan
the Donkey. Duncan feels lost and useless, unable to ascertain his purpose in life. He looks around him and sees the friends
he grew up with pursuing meaningful jobs that make a difference. He has a strong desire for God to use him in some way, but
he sadly is unable to determine a vocation.
Blending fiction with Biblical accounts, the authors introduce the story of Jesus sending his disciples to find a young donkey that he will ride into Jerusalem, fulfilling a prophecy from Zechariah. Duncan the donkey learns that God does indeed have a purpose for his life - God has specifically chosen him to carry his son Jesus into Jerusalem. Duncan's triumphant entry into the holy city leaves him wondering what plan God has in store for him next.
With bold illustrations and a plot that aligns closely with the New Testament account of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, Duncan Carries a King is the perfect tool for parents looking to teach children the message that God has given each of us unique and precious talents. Also included in the book is a special section for parents including objectives and discussion questions for parents or teachers. Children will love Duncan Carries a King for its creativity and the loveable Duncan. Parents will appreciate the book for its emphasis on prayer, patience, perseverance and a serving heart.

Marti Beuschlein and Dr. Patricia Hoffman do a wonferful job writing an age appropriate story for young children! Set in rhyme,
it keeps children encompassed in the reading process while telling the Easter story. My preschoolers enjoyed the bright illustrations
and the simple vocabulary that they could easily identify with. All these careful considerations in writing this book, brought
the Easter story to life for my little ones!

Trudy Roundtree has had enough happen in her life... her husband was killed in a hunting accident. Later she returns to her hometown after a failed romance. When Trudy doesn't know where to go or what to do, her cousin Hen, short for Henry, hires her as a police officer. After investigating the latest fire and death in Ogeechee Trudy learns it's really murder. Since the other officers are out of commission with a rash they picked up while hiding in the woods on stake out, Trudy takes the lead in investigating using the help of the Ogeechee kudzu vine (Georgian for Grapevine), the volunteer fire marshal, and some of Ogeechee's other interesting citizens. While she's sleuthing she also deals with an alien visit, a family that loves to be mirandarized and cousin-in-law holding a grudge.
I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery. It's witty, humorous and up front. Trudy doesn't just investigate a crime, she introduces us and gives us insight on her hometown, her family and her friends. Trudy is a woman with a quick wit and can take what ever comes in stride and go on. When you read it, you too will feel her confidence and shake your head in agreement at her hometown wisdom.
