A WARMLY REASSURING STORYReview Date: 2001-03-03
Sammy and Tom Rabbit live on a farm. Early one day Sammy takes his beloved floppy eared toy to the back field so Tom Rabbit can see real rabbits. But, there's so much to do on a farm that when Sammy sees the cows being moved to another pasture he runs off to help, leaving Tom Rabbit perched on a stone wall.
Tom Rabbit knows that Sammy will come back for him, but as the day turns into evening and Tom Rabbit sees the moon for the first time his long ears seem to droop even more. Then, his eyes widen in alarm as he finds himself surrounded by real rabbits.
But Sammy hasn't forgotten his favorite toy - he returns for Tom Rabbit so they can both snuggle safely in bed.
Children who have waited to be picked up will easily relate to Tom Rabbit's predicament, and be reassured by a happy ending. Barbara Firth's soft watercolor illustrations add depth to this gentle story.

FIVE THUMBS UP!!!
Patton's Reach And Grasp Are The SameReview Date: 2001-10-16
Patton's research must have been extensive. Even with talking animals as most of the main characters, his historical, geographical and scriptural bases are sound. His knowledge of animal husbandry also would be difficult to challenge.
This book and this author receive and richly deserve my highest recommendation. Every now and then, it's just nice to read a book that leaves one feeling clean and good.

The Grass is Always Greener... the Holes More Roomy... - a review of "Too Many Bunnies"Review Date: 2006-08-28
Five Stars. Cute boardbook that will have you and your child turning the pages to get Chubby, Fuzzy, Floppy, Whiskers, and Bob from one hole to another. Artwork is cute. Book itself is of middle-quality; meaning that it is not one of those super strong boardbooks that hold up to drool and chewing. Toddlers will be able to rip bunnies from their holes. But a great buy anyway.

Alice is an everyday little girl who likes to read her Bible. While she is reading an airmail bird flies in and drops a letter in her lap that tells her reading is the magic key to take her where she wants to be. Her Bible becomes big enough for her to walk through & she enters the scene she has been reading about. In this book Alice sees the resurrection morning unfold.
I think these are so popular with children because they get transported to Bibleland with Alice and the story becomes alive for them.
Highly recommended!!!
