This is the US title of the MOVIE of the Final Programme. Moorcock had nothing to do with the US title (Last Days) and disassociated
himself from the movie. Not the book. The books is THE FINAL PROGRAMME, part of The Cornelius Quartet (Orion, UK, still
in print).

Religious fiction at it's worst. Excited by the press release I read of Jones' book Tribulation and Last Days, I couldn't
wait to read it, but I still I'm waiting to finish it. The book is hard to read and will remain on my bookshelf unread. The
knowledge of the author about events in the book, are at best poor. But I did find a good book: The Reluctant Messenger
of Science and Religion by Stephen Boston Ph.D. & Evelyn Boston Ph.D. Available from Amazon.com, published by Writers Showcase.
ISBN 0-595-26821-8. This religious fiction novel is a must read. Great knowledge of events and wonderful writing style,
this book is waiting to be discovered.

Blueprinting the Science Fiction Universe reads more like diary entries filled with Johnson's observations on the shows and much less like the books he is so good at doing. The shows and movies he covers are 2001, Ghostbusters, Battlestar Galactica (original series), Star Trek III, Star Wars, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet, Lost in Space (original series), The Andromeda Strain, The Invaders and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Of ALL of these I only found one snippet of useful information. Even the forward by Walker Koenig left a lot to be desired.
The art is decent, but not his best if you ask me. Looking at the publishing dates it seems this was Shane's first book, and it shows. If I were you I would pass this one up (unless you REALLY want to see his drawing of Robbie the Robot) and go with any and all of his other works. Everything else he has done is insightful and a great resource for any sci-fi fan. This book is the exception to that rule.
