Christmas Eve Books

The "easy piano" version of David Lanz's immensely popular 1994 songbook is finally here! With bigger print, fewer chords, easier key signatures, and more fingering, pianists of modest playing skills can now play David Lanz's wonderful arrangements of favorite songs of the season as well as the seven short improvisations that are placed between the songs on the CD of the same name. Despite the simplification of the pieces, the sound is full and rich, keeping the spirit of the originals intact. Several of the arrangements are also shortened. More advanced players might want to have a copy of this book for last-minute requests to play during the holiday season - it is not obvious that the music is simplified. There are a few places in the music where ledger lines need to be read, but players who do not readily recognize those notes can always pencil in what they are. I've been teaching from the older version of this book for a lot of years, and I still had a lot of fun with the easy piano version. Very highly recommended!

a truly warm, heart-felt children's story about harriet tubman's love for those close to her and her dream of freedom. a great inspirational inspirational story for children to strive for something they truly believe in. also, we learn an important lesson in how precious freedom and equality really is.

I love the Kipper series! They are funny, and no worries about inappropriate content. The children love them too!

When the boy finishes his task he is both surprised and delighted when the home owner gives him two gifts. As Nicholas thanks him for his generosity the man simply replied, "Pass it on."

Finally a book that the entire family can read together.
My kids love pugs and New York - we have nights reserved for "Leni" time. The book takes about 45 minutes to read from cover to cover, so we carve out 15 minutes of family time 3x's a week to enjoy the book.
Plus, the book is of such high quality that it looks perfect on my coffee table during the holiday.

Goats on a snowy rooftop wearing their fanciest horns? And what's the farmer doing up there, wearing a bright red hat? It's so good to see Minerva Louise back in a Christmas adventure - I can't wait to read this to my nephew who will love being one step ahead of this kindly but confused hen as she explores a house on Christmas Eve. Wonderful illustrations too - I think my favorite is Santa's hat disappearing down the chimney!

This was my first official Christmas read for this year and I have to say that it was a perfect kick off to great holiday reading! This was such a fun and enjoyable story! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Miss Flora McFlimsey has been a favorite Christmas story in my family for many years. I even loved her when I was a tomboy and didn't have anything else to do with dolls. Her patience and good nature and her character shine through to readers young and old alike. I love Miss Flora McFlimsey!

I read this book when I was a child in elementary school. Of course, then, I did not realize how much the story affected me. Now, I am going to hunt to the ends of the earth to find this book for my future niece/nephew (the baby won't be born until September).
