Christmas Day Books

I don't know how my book came to be sold on Amazon especially at such an outrageous price. You can get this book from me for six bucks and postage at PFornatar@aol.com. I had a difficult time with Christmas when I was a young lad. In our family it was time for battles of meaningless sorts. However, I love to write Christmas stories. These are funny, wacky, sad and some deep. It's a fun read. I happen to think Christmas should be limited to one day. And, that's what the stories are about.

I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS BOOK AT MY SONS SCHOOL DURING READING TIME. THE TEACHER TOLD ME HOW THE KIDS LOVED THIS BOOK AND THEY ASKED TO HAVE IT READ TO THEM AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES EACH WEEK!
I THEN BOUGHT ONE FOR MY HOUSE, AND IT IS A VERY FUN BOOK.

THE BOOK IS READ TO THE TUNE OF "THE ANTS GO MARCHING ONE BY ONE", BUT IT IS VERY CUTE AND FUNNY!

This book is quite cute ... It's a basic story, but a crowd pleaser, none the less. The "holograms" in the illustrations are also a big hit. My children are fascinated by them. It's a definite keeper.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a new way of studying and enjoying the advent season. Whether you are looking for a different way of celebrating or something for bringing your family together, this well written, thoughtful book does both. My family did the daily readings together through the 4 weeks of advent and we bonded together each night and we learned more about the meaning of the season and also about one another.

This book is an excellent book and must read for anyone who cares about the state of our world and its animals before it is too late. It shows us that if the animals become extinct, it would indeed be a sad sad world to live in. It helps one open up their eyes to the tragic events that are happening everyday in the news around us. It shows us how we can take part in making this world a better place for ourselves, the environment and all of the animals that we co-exist with. This book pays tribute to a great conservationist of our society, the late Steve Irwin, better known as the Crocodile Hunter who truly cared about all of the animals on our planet, particularly in trying to educate others on the crocodiles that he loved. At the end of the book, the POEM speaks loudly into your heart on what is happening before our very eyes and makes us really think about the consequences of our actions in preserving the current society that we live in. This is a book that speaks on many different levels and reaches a broad spectrum (history, extinction, nature, the history of Christmas, the environment, birds, animals, the end of the world - a society as we knew her).

Delivery was extra fast. The book was in excellent condition, especially for a used book. I have one of the other volumes and this is a welcome addition to our Christmas tradition. We love to read a story a night until Christmas. My kids were already planning which one of them would get the book we had when they move out, now they just have to fight over which volume they like best.

Story of Jesus birth with simple scripture text. Beautiful life like pastel pictures. Perfect length for a preschooler's attention span.

The book guides you through planning and creating an Advent calendar that interweaves the liturgy of the season with your everyday Christmas preparations, giving rich significance to such "menial" things as housecleaning, and serving as a reminder to do everything "as unto the Lord." You can choose from three different materials/levels of difficulty, and each one comes with step-by-step instructions and a shopping list! The book is written from a Catholic perspective, and the calendar is easy to adapt to other Christian traditions. Some days (like the 4 Sundays of Advent) have specific themes, but even the "doors" on those days can be personalized with different decorations and Scripture verses. Other days, you choose something that suits your family -- a school house for the last day of school or a Christmas tree for the day you decorate your tree. Each day's theme also comes with one or more Scriptures, a brief "lesson" and a prayer. For families used to starting the day with a devotional, this puts a different spin on it. For families that aren't, it's a great way to start. I've found a wonderful way of reducing the stress and reminding my family what's really important.

The innkeeper responds: Children, children, I would say... This question-answer pattern makes this little book an excellent choice for non-readers and those who are just beginning to learn to read. While rereading the book, the children chime in, reciting the words. The soft illustrations add to the text. This is one I've used with preschool and kindergarten-age children, encouraging them to answer what they could say about that first Christmas day.
