We have numerous books in this series and my son has loved them from age 1. The books are simple to read and colorful to look at. My son tries to grab the pop-up pictures in the book so many of them are ripped, but we read them all the time so I just keep taping them back together!

These books (Busy Day at the Airport, Busy Day at the Harbor, Busy Day at the Garage, Busy Day at the Building Site, and BusyDay at the Train Station.) by Philippe Dupasquier are absolutely wonderful! I must say we have them all! They say they are meant for 4-8 year olds, but my 2 1/2 year old loves them!! I rather enjoy them too. The illustrations are wonderful and you see something new each time you read the story. Each book goes through a typical day at each given place. For example: A Busy Day at the Airport starts out with 'Sylvester Dustpan' arriving at the airport. (He's the 'custodial engineer'.) Other airport attendants arrive, get to work and airplanes start taking off and landing. There are interesting things to notice on each page. At the end of the story, the airport closes for the day and Sylvester Dustpan is the last to leave... After you read the story, the cover-flaps of the books have puzzles, quizzes and questions to go with each story. (Meant for the older child.) It's fun to see if your child (and even you) can answer each of the questions - without peaking!!

The "busy day" series written by Philippe Dupasquier has a great format for reading the story then asking questions. My son and I found these books when he was 3 and now at 5 we still pick them up and do "homework" together (he loves the idea of homework as a result of older friends!). The front and back covers flip open from the inside to reveil great puzzels, true and false questions, and other fun activities for each double page. The illustrations are bright and fun - each page filled with detail. A Busy Day at the Garage is a book everyone will pick up over and over again - even if you aren't a auto mechanic!

Whenever my soon-be-four year old grandson visits, we MUST read A Busy Day at the Garage. Dupasquier's illustrations, text, and puzzles cover interest and skill ranges that have kept him (and me) fascinated for the past year and a half. In fact, Donovan has asked for the other books in the series for his birthday.

The text consists of verbs in the present participle.
This makes an easy pattern for students of English as a second language to follow.
Furthermore, it offers welcome help on a difficult topic: verbs.

Mrs. Oberon is not, by her actions, an ordinary grandmother. When her son, Scrimshaw, calls her in distress because his son Sweeny is teething, there's only one thing that could help:

A cock-a-hoop honey cake!

In order to deliver the cake, Mrs. Oberon must navigate the Riff-Raff rapids, the Swagwallow Swamp and then take to the air in her Piper Cherokee. She accomplishes her mission, and all are happy once again..

The overwhelming message this book communicates is a grandmother's strong love.

My son just loves this book! It's the kind of book you can feel good about reading to your child!

This is a sweet little book with an adorible little bunny. The little bunny rides in his stroller as he and his mommy walk to the bakery. Baby bunny waves "bye-bye" to Daddy as they go and says "hi", to everyone they meet along the way. So if you have a little one that loves to wave and say "hi", and "bye-bye" this is the perfect book! My 18 month old loves it. = )

This book is wonderfully illustrated, and kids love it. It has a great deal of re-read value for kids because the illustrations are so detailed. The Spanish is easy and many of the words listed are very similar to their English counterparts. El Dia de los Muertos is fun anytime of the year, and this book is a visual treat...
