I BOUGHT THIS NOT KNOWING IF MY 4 YEAR OLD AND 2 1/2 YEAR GRANDCHILDREN WOULD SIT THROUGH THE ENTIRE READING. THEY DID AND PAID ATTENTION TO WHAT WAS BEING READ!!! OBVIOUSLY THIS BOOK IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN THIS SMALL TO READ BY THEMSELVES BUT IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO READ TO THEM AND TEACH THEM THE TRUE MEANINGS OF OUR VARIOUS HOLIDAYS AND THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY - THIS STORY OFFERS BOTH. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT FOR THIS AGE GROUP AND OLDER. A HINT - I READ THE STORY ALONG WITH INVOLVING THEM WITH SOME EASY THANKSGIVING CRAFT PROJECTS TO HELP REINFORCE THE STORY LINE.

Very good, yet simple Thanksgiving book

I have a three year old, and this story is just right for her. It is simple enough that it keeps her attention, but it provides details such as why the Pilgrims left England, the harsh winters they had to endure, the different tribes of Native Americans they encountered and became indebted to, and it explains the harvest feast and why the pilgrims were thankful. I recommend this if you want something that gives a simple yet not overly simple explanation of the first Thanksgiving.

For your baby to gaze upon and carry

This board book is absolutely perfect for your little one! Fisher Price calls this Baby's 1st Scrapbook and it really is! We all know babies love looking at other babies and here is a book that lets you insert 5 photos of your baby. There is one for the cover, one of your baby having fun, eating, bathing and sleeping. Your child's photo is also cute drawings of kitten, puppy and frogs for baby to learn. The board book even has a built in handle for your toddler's hands and a unbreakable mirror so that your child can look at their own adorable face!

Here's to hoping that Fisher Price adds more Baby's First Scrapbook books to accompany this book.

A fun scrapbook for babies

Reviewed by Cayden (age 3-1/2) and Max (age 19-months) Aures and Mom for Reader Views (4/08)

"All About My Day: Baby's First Scrapbook" is a sturdy Fisher-Price board book that has slots into which you can insert five pictures of your child. There is room for a cover picture and then areas for pictures of the child sleeping, eating, playing, and bathing. On the opposite pages are familiar Fisher-Price animals doing those same daily activities.

Max: When I first showed him the book after I had put the pictures in: "Me! Me!"
Cayden: "Yes Max that is you!"

Max: On the page where he is sleeping "Max sleep!"

Max: "Eat! Eat!"

Max: "Bath!"

Max: "Me! Me!"

Parent's comments:

Max was very excited to have a photo book of his very own. He sat and laughed and looked at the pictures over and over. It even has a little carrying handle for toting it around and a fun mirror at the end for your baby to see his reflection in. The book is also pretty sturdy and it is very hard for a child to get the pictures out, and believe me Max tried! We have another book that is similar to this one for Cayden but the pictures were not nearly as easy to get to as these are and ended up getting bent up. "All About My Day: Baby's First Scrapbook" is definitely a great book for toddlers.

Stephanie, Allie, and Darcy have all been best friends since the sixth grade. They all have finally turned 14 and are now allowed at the community pool without an adult. While at the pool, the three friends meet two other girls their age. Kayla and Anna. Together they have formed a little kids camp called Club Stephanie. They meet with the kids for four hours each weekday. The Flamingoes, a group of tough older girls who have dedicated their life to getting revenge on Stephanie and wearing all pink all the time, had tried to start their own summer camp, but it flopped. Now they want revenge even more. Stephanie got this great idea to have a summer dance to raise money to keep the community pool open and the Flamingoes called the newspaper and said it was their idea. Stephnie had been going out with one of the lifeguards and Rene like him too, so she decided to get him from Stephanie no matter what. Stephanie had written Rick, the lifguard, a note to tell him how she felt about him and put it in his backpack. Rene switched it for a phony one that she wrote that said Stephanie thought he was a bad kisser. Rick avoided Stephanie for a while, but then they finally about what Rene had done. Rick and Stephanie went to the dance-a-thon together and finally got back at the Flamingoes because Anna hooked up the sterio system to the girls change room and so everyone heard Rene talking about how the dance-a-thon. She said the dance-a-thon wasn't really her idea so everyone knew it was Stephanie's idea. The Flamingoes were finally put in their place and Stephanie and Rick danced the full five hours of the dance-a-thon and made over two hundred dollars for the pool. Also a father of one of the kids from Club Stephanie donated ten thousand dollars. The pool was going to stay for good and Stephanie was a hero. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read.

This book is book three in Sonrise Farms series. Book four is now available too (MORNING GLORY). This horse series is awesome. My nieces love them. The books are full of adventures about Jenny and her palomino horse that all girls 10-15 love. The stories are wholesome and have a morale lesson. They also offer a Christian perspective, which I appreciated. It is hard these days to find wholesome reading for kids.

Flying High is another wonderful book that my daughter couldn't put down. The story is exciting and educational. The characters are real to life people that we could identify with. It provides a great example for my daughter of loving family relationships and show how reliance on their faith can get them through any difficulty. My daughter has read all three in this series and asks often when the next book will be available.

I must say this book is wildly fun and very imaginative. Not only fun but educational at the same time. After your child gets done reading about Frankie's strange adventure, they then are given lots of fun facts about the animals that live in the zoo. Your child will find something new hidden in the artwork each and every time they read it. With 53 beautifully illustrated pages, you sure do get a lot for the money. I say add this one to your child's library. You wont be sorry. They will love it!!!

This book really is for ages 1 to 101!!!

I love this book because the animals are funny. My favorite animals are Big Buff, the tiger, and the crying hyenas. I like it because everything in the beginning and middle come together and connect at the end. I also love this book because there is a part at the end that tells awesome facts about real animals.

Really cute Valentine's cards. Just be aware that there is no story in this book, just pull out cards to use for Valentine's Day. Very sweet cards, too. No diva, brat, bling, or evil in sight! Almost takes you back to the "good old days". Almost.

Great Idea

Remembering Grandmother

Review Date: 2004-05-21
I stumbled upon Ghost Wings at the public library a week after the death of my mother-in-law. I was trying to find a book that would help my four-year-old deal with the loss. Ghost Wings is an amazing book. Its illustrations are gorgeous, but it is the story that captures the essence of a child's confusion and pain. It also deals with the acceptance stage of the grieving process. Although we aren't there yet, this magical story has made it possible for my daughter to understand that her grandma will never truly be gone, that "the old ones" are never far away. Every time we see a butterfly, monarch or otherwise, we are reminded of the spirits of those we have lost.

Beautiful story and illustrations

This book takes the reader into the beautiful world of Mexican culture through a sweet story and amazing illustrations. I read Ghost Wings to a first grade art class and they really enjoyed learning about Los Dias de los Muertos and how the little girl in the story participated in the festivities. The full page illustrations perfectly bring the poetic story to life. At the end of the book there are some interesting projects and ideas that can be done with children. There is also a helpful explaination section, full of details about the Day of the Dead holiday and Mexican culture. I think every children's library should have a copy of this book.

Are you the elementary writing teacher who can't think of topics for your children to use in writing assignments? This book is for you. I am an idea challenged teacher who just can't think of topics and I love using this book. It has everything - quick writes that can be used as daily writing assignments or journal entries, story starters for longer assignments, and writing forms that cover a variety of topics. For me, it's a valuable resource.

Excellent resource for any parent, teacher or guardian aiming to effectively guide their children to better writing skills. THat the book has 12 sections - one for each month of the year, is a great way to get kids to practise writing and come to love it.

Writing stories, essays, narratives etc can be a daunting task for many children. This book serves to remove that fear barrier as well as banish that "Do-I-have-to-write-when-I-can-be-playing-somethingelse" attitude. With interesting and many different story starters and ideas, children are allowed free rein of their imagination which will manifest in their writings.

Writing has to be practised frequently to get better. No better way for children to pick up this skill and improve than by using this book.
