What a cute book! Since I am a hairstylist and my daughter is always watching what I do, this book was a great way to start teaching her some very important lessons while seeing things that are very familiar to her! Thanks for the quick delivery!

A naughty bunny tale!

Inside Herbert Hare's salon "all was calm. Soft music played, fans whirred and the coffee machine hummed." Then niece Holly appears, promising to sit quietly and be good until Mama picks her up.

But when Uncle Herbert goes to accept a delivery, Holly decides to "help." She snips off Goat's beard, "fixes" Bald Eagle's wig, bleaches out Badger's stripes, volumises Lion's mane--wrecking havoc upon Uncle's shop and his clients.

Clever word play and whimsical drawings make "Bad Hare Day" a naughty bunny tale.

ALL CHILDREN WOULD ENJOY READING THE BIBLE IF THEY KNEW OR HAD A CLUE OF SOMETHING TO LOOK FOR. WELL THIS BOOK DOES THAT. IT ALSO TELLS THEM WHY THAT CERTAIN BOOK WAS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE, TELLS THEM WHAT TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHILE READING THROUGH THE BIBLE, OLD & NEW TESTAMENT. I THINK THEOLD TESTAMENT GETS A LITTLE BORING FOR OUR YOUNG ONE, THIS BOOK WILL HELP THEM, BECAUSE OF WHAT I SAID ABOVE. I
COULDN'T PUT ITDOWN MYSELF WHEN IT CAME, & I AM FAR FROM THE AGE OF A CHILD. I DO HOWEVER: WISH I HAD THIS WHEN I TAUGHT SUNDAY SCHOOL YEARS AGO. ... IT IS A VERY GOOD HELP BOOK!

I just opened my home daycare in April and wasn't sure what things I would need for year end taxes and didn't want to be surprised come January. Copeland's book goes step by step and gives good examples. He answered most of my questions just as I was beginning to ask them! Very good book.

Whether you're new to child care or been in it a while, I guarantee this book will teach you a lot! I found items to deduct at tax time that I've had no clue about for years. This is definitely a must for all providers. The author is a pleasant man and a great speaker too!

My grandchildren have all three puppy and me series books and love to have me read to them from the books. Julia Noonan is a talented illustrator and writer. I hope she writes and illustrates many more books.

This book is a gem. It makes a perfect companion to the Puppy and Me Breakfast Time. This book wonderfully illustrates the charm and wonder of an "outdoors" bath. The story is a simple one of a baby and puppy bathing together and the spontaneous fun that ensues. The illustrations are particularly unique and soft - almost the look and feel of the 1950's. The story is in rhyme also, which is always a plus for the reader and listener.

This book was really funny. Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy are probably the best charaters.

Pretty much the same as the special,(except for the Pawpet Show),
Charlie Brown waits for valentines with pie in the sky hopes. Snoopy makes a music box out of paper, while Sally makes a diamond and a club, and Charlie Brown watches his "something that is very nice" fall apart.

Even restless toddlers will sit down for this book

A book to tell a story without words but so descriptive it doesn't need any. Each page contains a scene which leads up to bedtime (saying goodbye to friends, putting toys away, bathtime, brushing teeth, storytime, etc.) My 1 year old son is not that interested in sitting still to be read books to but he will happily sit down for this one - any time of the day. I guess he recognizes each scene from his own life and loves to re-live those moments. I find it very positive how both parents are portrayed in this book as equal participants in the bedtime 'ritual'

The Wild Thornberrys by Adam Beechen

The part that I like was the animals. I like the beavers the most. I also liked the adventures and characters. The characters are
Eliza, Debby, Donny, Maryanne/Mom, and Nigil/Dad. This is a really long book and movie. It teaches you a lot about animals. This is a really good book. You should read it

I love this book's happy ending. Through a clever plot featuring some adorable beavers, Eliza and the reader discover together how important family is, and how Valentine's Day can extend to include children as well as parents. The poem at the end would warm any woman's heart!

Big Day On The River is a completely delightful picture book story about a young girl who sometimes feels a bit squeezed by her large family, and her determination to enjoy a river adventure. Playful color illustrations by Randy Cecil perfectly showcase the upbeat text by Sarah Wilson, -- and lots of splashing make for an upbeat and thoroughly fun-filled read for children ages 4 to 7!

A Joyful Down-Home River Trip
Helpful Votes: 7 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2005-02-03
Vivid acrylic gouache illustrations and sparkling prose highlight this funny, clever book about a "skinny-legs-tall girl's almost spoiled rafting trip down the "Wallawatchee." Just as she's celebrating her imminent launch from the dock, (along with two duck pals), Willie's extended (as in "large- extended") family prance down the dock bringing her provisions that threaten to overload her raft, and country dialect, similes, and metaphors for the reader's delight:

Gramma Clementia brings a bag of apples: "It's a long-toed river out there. You'll be hungry as a hound by midmorning!"

Gramma Emmaline brings a watermelon. "The watermelon was heavier than a full grown-raccoon in a washtub."

Some of the men happen to bring smelly items--even the ducks hold their noses: An umbrella "as tall as a beanpole" which might have some dirty socks within it,and a horse blanket which may have some horse hair. The raft loads up more and more as Uncle Binderbus and Uncle Mumpford, respectively, bring a bicycle and a chair. Calamity ensues as the raft goes under ("fortunately the water was shoulder-high-shallow) and the givers focus on getting back their supplies. There's a very happy ending, and overall, a very lightly presented lesson for the overly solicitous.

The narrative, dialogue, and pictures are just flat-out fun. (You may find yourself doing a little regional dialect yourself after reading this one.) It's great fun to read silently and especially to others. The large format illustrations and exaggerated portraits give the book a tall-tale feeling but within a familiar context. Sarah Wilson and Randy Cecil have concocted one of the most enjoyable books I've read all year; it's a very down-home yarn that's sure to please.

I believe that all the Biscuit books are written very well and I know that my child loves them all. This book shows how the little girl and her dog Biscuit prepare for Mother's Day. It is written very well and I would recommend it to anyone with small children.

Another Biscuit holiday flap book that gets right to the point. This time it is Mother's Day and The-Girl-In-Purple-Sneakers and Biscuit are going to make it a special day for Mom and show how much they care. Gifts are made, Mom seeps in, and a special breakfast in bed are just the beginning of Mom's special day.

The book is packed with the typically adorable artwork that has been a backbone to the Biscuit series. The end flaps reveal what Biscuit is up to in his usual puppyish ways. All in all another good holiday book that is attractive and fun to read.

Winter Fun For All

Review Date: 2005-11-17
The cutest dog in books teams up with The-Girl-in-Purple-Sneakers for a lot of snowy Winter fun.

Biscuit and company have a fun day in the snow. There are snowmen to build, snow angels and snow puppies to make. There is even sledding. Then the day ends cuddled in front of a warm fireplace with a mug of hot Cocoa.

Delightful illustrations are what really drive the Biscuit books and this one is no exception. Simple descriptions and the Woof, Woof of Biscuit show some of the fun that can be had in the snowy days of winter. The board book pages are very thick and sturdy.
