We purchased a School days memory keeper about 2 weeks ago, the book arrived about a week after sending the check. Once our younger boy saw the book that we had purchased for our 12 year old we immediately ordered another one. I would definitely recommend this book for your kids.

We bought two of these books through a fund-raiser at our kids elementary school last year.Even though our kids were in 5Th and 11Th grade at the time, we had a great time going through their boxes of school stuff which we had nowhere else to put. It's nice to have all their stuff in an easy to look at
place. I think anybody who buys this book will be well pleased. I was surprised to see it on Amazon.

A must have for any parent

I first want to thank the Author of this book for doing a great job on the layout of the pages. I have seen books similar to this one in the past. Now that I have a child starting 1st grade I thought it was time to buy one. after looking through the different choices on amazon, (which is the only place I could find these),I choose the School Days Memory Keeper For the simple design layout of the pages and the wonderful cover, it just has a good SCHOOL feel to it.
After receiving the book I was glad I choose this one.The pages are made of a thick paper and are strong enough to last for many, many years. I'm sure most parents will be pleased with the well thought out design and how the information changes as the grades move from elementary to middle school and then through high school graduation. The pockets are also very well designed with plenty of room for report cards and any other special papers you might want to save.
I was so pleased with this book that bought 4 more to give as Christmas gifts for family members.
This is a great keepsake.

My brother, who is a police officer, gave this to my son for his first Birthday. It was my son's favorite book and everyone in the family had it memorized because of such frequent readings. My son is older now and we have read many of Wong Herbert Yee's books. They are all great. They are wonderfully illustrated and the stories are cute and fun to read. We are all fans of Wong Herbert Yee's great work and highly suggest any of his books - you won't be disappointed.

We bought this a month ago to add to our collection and it is definitely a favorite. Some of the songs are familiar and some of them are new to us. I have an eight month old, an eight yo and a thirteen yo - all boys - who are enjoying adding songs to our daily activities. Music and songs just make everything smoother.

THE SINGING DAY has been a fabulous find for us. We picked up a copy at a local store run by a Waldorf expert. We have absolutely loved THE SINGING DAY! My son just turned two. We bought THE SINGING DAY 5 months ago, and have gotten a lot of use out of it.

The illustrations are excellent. We have even spent time with our son talking about the cover illustration, which depicts events in a child's day. The black and white drawings inside are simple and appealing, and our child pages through the book to look at those as well.

THE SINGING DAY book contains simple music and verses for over 100 songs. When I say simple, I mean that the music shows the melody only. I can follow along using our little xylophone. The book also contains extra verses for many songs, so that once you learn a song, you can go to the book to learn more verses.

THE SINGING DAY CD is very nicely done. The singing is a capella (voice only), with almost always just one singer (though there several singers overall). The songs are grouped by time of day and activity, so you can work your way through, for example, a set of songs to sing while cleaning, doing errands, or the like. I think there is only one song that I do not much enjoy -- the singer seems to be trying to sing in a southern accent that sounds artificial to my southern ear. But that is a minor quibble. Overall, this is excellent work.

As a mother, I love having songs to share with my child for all these activities. My son loves to sing them with me, and has asked us to play the CD "again, again, again!" He has been a big fan of nursery rhymes and other rhymes, and these simple songs fit nicely with that.

Thank you to the authors and to the publisher, should any of you ever read this. Your book and CD have enriched our lives.

We are really enjoying the accapela CD. They have several different vioces, male and female. They can all be clearly understood, helpful when one doesn't read music. Great companion to the book! Over 100 songs and verses, it does included some short prayers and graces, although not professing any particular religion, instead simply spiritual. Personally I like them, but I know it is an issue for some. There was a huge varity of useful songs from those for greeting the day to cooking to washing hands to soothing hurts, and more. Before each section there is a quick introduction of how the following songs could be used, such as "to help with household activities". Wonderful for the under 10 set, best for those with kids in the preschool and lower grades.

My daughter loves music and books and this book combines them both! We started out reading actually me singing the book to her. After our bath we both settle down in our glider and read a few books, then turn off the lights and we talk about what we did during the day, and then sing this song before bed! Definately a book for all year around, not just for Valentines Day!

The best book...

My daughter absolutely adores this book - with it's cute pictures of real children and the words to the classic Skidamarink song, she wants to read it again and again and at 18 months would ask for it by saying "minkadink, minkadink." :)

It's important for all babies and toddlers to touch everything, after all this is how they explore and learn about the world around them. I really like this book because each page has a parent and their child... it could be easily be a Mother or Father with their daughter or son. Each page has a fuzzy spot that you can start out and put the childs' finger on it, then later have your child find where the fuzzy spot is. I love to read this to my daughter and tickle her under her chin on " You're someone's puppy love page! She always giggles when we read this and excitely expect the page when she knows she's going to get softly tickled!

The collaborative effort of Lorna and Lecia Balian, Sometimes It's Turkey, Sometimes It's Feathers is a wonderfully charming holiday picture book about an old woman with a cat who finds a turkey egg. She hatches and raises the turkey, and anticipates a tasty Thanksgiving dinner with it - yet when the season rolls around she finds it far more enjoyable to share the holiday with her new avian friend than to eat him! "He'll be much bigger - and much plumper - next Thanksgiving!" she says to herself, in this sprightly illustrated and enthusiastically recommended tale.

This story is a very funny and sweet book!

The Spirit of Tio Fernando

Review Date: 2008-05-05
The spirit of Tio Fernando by Janice Levy is a book about the Day of the Dead.
Fernando wakes up and today is the Day of the Dead and they are going to see the spirit of Tio Fernando. Fernando`s mother set all Tio Fernando `s favorite foods on the table. She also put out some pictures of Tio Fernando. After Fernando`s mother gave him some pesos to go buy things that Tio Fernando liked also to remember him. Fernando went to the market and saw Senor Romero and then Senor Romero gave Fernando a skull with his name on it. Fernando saw Senora Magdalia and Senora Magdlia gave him a little ghost and Senor Magdalia tells Fernando how he will meet Tio Fernando's spirit and how he will feel good inside. After Fernando went home they went to the cemetery to Tio Fernando's cross and put marigolds there. Fernando's mother sang Tio Fernando's favorite songs. Fernando heard a heart beating but maybe it was only Fernando. Fernando feels something in his body. Then they stayed at the cemetery for the Day of the Dead.

The lesson I learned from the book was that your loved ones will always be beside you. In one part of the book I found they tell Tio Fernando's spirit to join them. Even if Tio Fernando is dead he knows he isn't forgotten. Fernando feels his uncle in his body and by the sounds too. Fernando remembers Tio Fernando by the pictures and by the second toe of his right foot. I like the way this book tells you about the Day of the Dead and that your loved ones will always be beside you.

El Espiritu de Tio Fernando is an excellent book describing the mexican celebration of Days of the Dead. The book follows a young boy and his mother as they remember his uncle who has died within the last year. The book is simple yet includes many aspects of the celebration. The illustrations are wonderfully detailed so as to show the emotions of each part of the celebration. The text is in both English and Spanish allowing all children to enjoy it equally.

My youngest daughter has been hooked on Spongbob since she was a year old. Something about that yellow sponge speaks to her heart.
We now own two copies of this particular Spongebob book. The first one was read to the point that it wore out.
The basic premise of this cute lift the flap book is that Spongebob goes all over Bikini Bottom delivering cute homemade Valentine's to all of his friends.

My 3 year old loves spongebob (i usually try to steer her away from him), she insisted on getting this book over all other valentine books. I was really surprised when I read it to her. The illustrations under the flaps are adorable - I was really impressed with the detailed valentine cards given by spongebob. I enjoyed reading this to her. This is definately one of the better spongebob books I've come across.

A Treasure for children's bedtime

Review Date: 2007-12-02
My mother and father read us stories from this book when we were children and my brother and sister and I waited each day for the appointed story. There is a poem kittens called "Peep in a Basket" that I can recite word for word to this day at the age of 45. Although my own daughter is grown and moved away, I keep a copy of the book on hand for when my neices and nephews and god-children visit. The stories in this book are sweet and short and have withstood the test of time. They are not too long and are good for parents to find a stopping point at bedtime. When we pressed my mother to read another story, my mother would always say, "Well, what will I read to you tomorrow?" and closed the book, leaving us wanting to open the book again the next evening. I hope this book never goes out of print. Highly recommended.

If you can find a copy of this book, I recommend it highly as perfect for young readers. The stories and poems are very short and to the point so a child won't be overwhelmed by a huge plot or excess of words. This was one of my first books and one from which my mom taught me to read at 3 years of age. I hope to do the same with my daughter.

Please make the book available soon!!! Thank You.
