Birthdays Books

I love this book and all the other Sam books (like the hamburger one!) The poems are really well written and are funny, and it is a fully enjoyable story to read to anyone. Sam always is up to sneaky plans, but his sister gets back at him. I love this book, and I would recommend it to anyone!

When I brought these books home, my kids (5 and 7) took one look and had to read them right away. The stories are entertaining and they loved the colorful, funny illustrations. The kids especially enjoyed reading along with the CD that came with the story. It has the author reading, as well as sound effects and voices. My son reads the books on his own now and repeats all the sounds he heard on the CD. There is always a good lesson to learn in each story as well. This is a great series of books for any kid, of any age, who ever wondered what Santa Claus does when he's not delivering Christmas presents!

This book is a wonderful debut for the author, John McGranaghan! The story inspired by his own son who when he was four years old asked for Saturn for his birthday! This story epitomizes the sweet innocence of children and how big they can dream from a very early age. The end of the story also begins to teach children about our fascinating solar system. The illustrations are spectacularly graphic and full of color and will keep your child engaged! I have purchased several books as gifts and have one for myself signed by John personally!. Buy a copy right away and get yourself to a book signing, if you can. You will find John to be a wonderful person!

I am a teacher who is very theme oriented. Every year I choose a theme and decorate my classroom accordingly. This year, I chose the "Under the Sea" theme and I found this poster very helpful to organize the birthdays in my class. I use to go to teacher stores and purchase most of my posters but I have found that some years there are certain themes that are not featured so I now buy things online. Amazon is great if you order items ahead of time that qualify for super saver shipping. The items still arrive in a timely manner and in very good condition. For example, this poster arrived in a poster storage tube that I will be able to reuse.

Sloth's shoes is a fun and zany children's story about sloth's freinds throwing him a birthday party. The story is written in rythmic form and is fun to read for small children and parents. Small children will soon have it memorized and will be qouting the book all hours of the day! This one is one you want in your collection!

If you are looking for a gift or for yourself, this guest book is a real jewel. It has short scriptures on each page with an oval photo at the bottom of each page corner relative to the scripture. It is absolutely lovely and touches your heart when you read each one. The scriptures relate to all walks of life. This was purchased as a gift, but I am going to order one for myself now that I have seen it! It is difficult to find quality, non-wedding guest books and this one is absolutely PERFECT! (I am thrilled with this purchase, in case you haven't noticed.)

This is a date book. It isn't a calendar of any particular year. What I liked about it is the beautiful photography and that every single day of the year has a celebrity's birthday listed. That's pretty cool. The other thing I liked about it is in the back there is a place to list 4 generations of family on a "family tree". That's cool too.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys learing who is born on what day of the year and enjoys beautiful photography.
