Dorrie's socks never match, her hat is always on crooked, and this time, Thinnever Vetch, the patchy witch, has stolen her galosh to use as a hat. Confusion reigns when Dorrie goes to buy eggs for a birtday cake for the Big Witch, and leaves the money for the eggs in a nest.

Plenty of familiar words for the beginning reader, but intricate drawings, lots of big words, and adult syntax keep parents who have to read this book out loud over and over again interested. My three year old loves it.

For us working mothers, the Big Witch has has a career, is sought after as a consultant by other witches, and as a parent, tries hard, gets headaches, and doesn't always listen.

This book was a really great sequel. In this book I think I had more laughs(b/c of Roxanne and Luke fighting) than in the first.

Behind the rather dull title lurks a treasure. This book is the (to my knoweldge) the ONLY extensive collection of papers about "English in Europe." There are, of course, a few other books on the subject but none offers so many different views, so many different country-studies. Of course the readability of the articles varies but generally they are excellent. The paper about English in East German is because of its dated communist rethoric rather amusing.

I can feel the presence of God while reading Ms.Brown's book.
The concept of a born-again birthday card is a wonderful idea.

This is truly a page turner...my kids love'd it and read it in one day...'fur real! Now only if they can make school text books as a fun...humm, now there's a thought... Keep reading - readers are leaders!!
