The sweet faces of the reindeer as they wait for Santa set the tone for the story, as they worry that Santa will be late to ride off for Christmas. The text reads like a song, and is easy for little readers to follow along. The illustrations are darling and the story has a happy ending. A wonderful book!

All jewish children have felt the pangs of not celebrating Christmas. Mr Black focuses in on this jewish childhood feeling with humor and demonstrates how all children, no matter what religion, are often not satisfied with what holiday they celebrate. In his funny, creative book, the author hones in on how many children feel during the holiday season and teaches children and adults alike that their holidays can all be shared. This is a fun book that I look forward to reading while I light the channukah menorah in my house and while I sit by the christmas tree at my friends house.

Thought provoking study on Biblical prophecy.

Review Date: 2005-06-17
This excellent, well written in-depth study scrutinises the wide range of issues relating to Biblical prophecy and the return of Jesus Christ.
Each and every subject is dealt with by analysing all the differing viewpoints/schools of interpretation, with the writer approaching such with due reference to Scripture and subsequently presenting his own personal views as & when appropriate in relation to Israel, the Church, the interpretation of the book of Revelation, the "Rapture" and the "Millennium" etc..
At the outset the reader's attention is drawn to what is described as the absolute accuracy of Biblical prophecy. The book citing that the declaration of future events is a major feature of the Holy Bible itself.
As the writer elaborates, the book relates how over a quarter of all the verses in the Bible contain a prediction about the future. Predictions cited as pertaining to personal, political, social, environmental, moral and meteorological issues, together with many returning to the physical return of Jesus Christ.
The writer further declaring that there are 737 separate prophecies made in Scripture, with some mentioned only once but others being mentioned up to many hundreds of times.
Of the 737 prophecies mentioned, the book reveals that 594 (over 80%) of these have already been accurately fulfilled. The remaining prophecies, which relate to the "end of the world" (which has obviously not happened yet) are shown to be taking shape at the time of writing.
This study provides clarity and insight to these issues. Whilst many readers will undoubtedly have differing opinions to some of those presented in this work, this should not prevent individuals from reading this well presented, in-depth study of an increasingly relevant subject.
Highly recommended.

The book of Revelation made simple! This book clearly and simply pulls together God's eternal plan to dwell with man again forever. My people parish for lack of understanding. This book will give the Christian understanding to be overcomers. We do not know the day and the hour but we do know the signs of the time. Must reading for a hungry thirsty,

Who doesn't want a book that reads itself aloud? "'Where's Joe?' 'He's dancing the tango,' said Mrs. Fandango.'" Of course we know where this plump, pleasant red-cheeked individual has gone this winter, but the books guessability just adds to its readaloud fun. Great for storyhours.

This is a wonderful children's book, especially for those children who know Joe! Yes, there really is a Joe who owns Joe's Snack Bar in Jericho, Vermont, and every fall he closes for the winter and then reopens in the spring. This book captures what every child must feel when Joe leaves. Even if you don't know Joe, this is a must have children's book. The pictures and rhymes say it all and more.

I am VERY pleased with this book. It is a beautiful hardcover book with bright, crisp color printing and a simple story. There is about one sentence per page, so it's a good choice for toddlers on up. My 6-year old sat and read it cover to cover immediately. Jerry Pallotta is a terrific writer and makes the most of this short tale.
The story line is about Santa looking for helpers. He tries dragons (the toys get cooked), fairies (they leave glitter everywhere), Bigfoot (only one toe fits through the door), mummies (only good at wrapping), leprechauns (too busy chasing rainbows), gnomes (too fond of vegetables), mermaids (toys got soaked), aliens (only made spaceships and never heard of Christmas), unicorns (with hooves they couldn't hold the tools), wizards (they turn Santa into a frog), and finally elves.
David Biedrzycki's illustrations are positively luminous and bright, and there are many humorous touches. All in all this is a terrific book, especially for the money.

Joshua's Wild Christmas is the book every young adult reader has been waiting for! Wild Christmas is a wild combination of humor and suspense that takes you from the daily struggles of Hawkins High School to the wonders of the North Pole. Russian born Gennady Spirin is one of the most gifted, imaginative artists working today. His illustrations are lush, rich, intricately detailed from the largest image to the smallest accouterment. Looking at some of the 30 books he has illustrated, it is as though one is looking at fine art. In fact, his works are found in private collections as well as museums throughout the world.
Mr. Spirin's awards are numerous - four gold medals from the Society of Illustrators, the Golden Apple from the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava, and first prize at both the Bologna and Barcelona International Book Fairs.
First written in 1857 We Three Kings is one of our most beloved Christmas carols as it tells of the wise men's journey to visit the manger in Bethlehem. Done in watercolor and colored pencils, Mr. Spirin's paintings for this carol appear bathed in a golden light. All are full page and exquisitely wrought, an illustrated edition of this traditional Christmas song which is sure to become a family keepsake.
